A little bit of everything, at a stone’s throw from my house

Medieval villages, castles, history, places of faith and unique scenic views!

might have been wearing my tour leader’s hat on…and on purpose I had a tight schedule, so as to visit as much as I could!

60 km away from the beach, in the hinterland between Fano and Gabicce Mare (in the “Provincia Bella” of Pesaro Urbino), in just one day I strung these beads one by one into a necklace of about 250 km.

Frontone with its magical hamlet and castle.

The Monastery of Fronte Avellana, just beneath Monte Catria (1,702 m above sea level): here you will be amazed to find the only Monastic scriptorium in Italy, which remained unaltered over time.

The Brancaleonis’ castle in Piobbico (just beneath Monte Nerone, 1,525 m above sea leve) with its 100 halls, its stuccos and its decorations.

Roman Archaeological site in Sant’Angelo in Vado: The “Domus del Mito”

The Tower perched on a hill top in Peglio, with an unforgettable 360 degree scenic view.. It is not by chance that this Riviera is also dubbed the "Riviera of Hills"!
